What Simon Cabaret Phuket Is

Simon Cabaret Phuket is a stage show performed by ladyboys, or kathoey (กะเทย) in Thai, as the theatre itself bills it. The theatre promises a professional approach to each musical theme, plus comedy and fun, and describes the show as a spectacular display of colour, originality and fun (Simon Cabaret Phuket).

Simon Cabaret opened in 1991, so the show has been running for more than three decades. The theatre has 600 seats on two floors, which the theatre calls luxurious and intimate: closer to a West End playhouse than to the huge arenas of the island’s theme parks.

Show Times

Simon Cabaret Phuket runs three shows every night, at 6:00 pm, 7:30 pm and 9:00 pm (as of October 2026), according to the theatre’s own website (simoncabaretphuket.com). The show is the same at every time, so pick the slot that fits your evening.

  • 6:00 pm: the best choice with children, and it leaves the whole evening for dinner afterwards.
  • 7:30 pm: a good middle slot for couples; eat early or after the show.
  • 9:00 pm: the one to pick if you plan to carry on to Bangla Road afterwards.

The official website does not give a running time, so allow the whole gap between shows and do not book a dinner table for straight after a show starts. Arriving 20 to 30 minutes early gives you time to collect your tickets and find your seats without a rush.

Tickets and Prices

Simon Cabaret tickets cost 1,000 THB for an adult VIP seat and 800 THB for an adult regular seat, according to the theatre’s official price list (Simon Cabaret sales kit; as of October 2026). Children pay 200 THB less in either seat.

Seat (as of October 2026)AdultChild (4 to 12)
VIP (lower floor, rows A to N)1,000 THB800 THB
Regular (upper floor, rows O to R)800 THB600 THB

The child price applies to children aged 4 to 12, up to a maximum height of 140 cm. Hotel transfers are not included: the theatre offers private and shared minivans for an extra charge, which you ask for when you book.

You can book on the official website, where full payment by credit card or PayPal is taken when you reserve. The theatre’s terms say all purchases are final and no refund can be given, so book once your evening plans are fixed. If you buy through a tour desk or booking app instead, compare the total with the official price before you pay.

VIP or Regular Seats?

VIP seats are the 14 rows (A to N) on the lower floor, and regular seats are the 4 rows (O to R) on the upper floor, according to the official seating plan (Simon Cabaret seating plan). Both face the stage straight on.

Pay the extra 200 THB for VIP if you want to see the costumes and make-up up close, or if you are a group who want to sit together near the front. Regular seats are good value for couples on a budget: the saving for two adults is 400 THB, and in a 600-seat theatre you are never far from the stage.

Photos, Children and Booking Rules

Cameras and other recording devices are not allowed in the Simon Cabaret theatre. You get your photos afterwards instead: the performers come out after the show, and the theatre advertises the chance to meet the stars for photos.

If photos matter to you, head out of the theatre promptly at the end rather than lingering in your seat, and always ask before you take a close-up photo of a performer.

Children are welcome at Simon Cabaret: the theatre sells child tickets for ages 4 to 12. With younger children, the 6:00 pm show keeps the evening short.

Is Simon Cabaret Worth It? The Honest Answer

Simon Cabaret Phuket is worth it if you want an easy, polished night out that does not take up the whole evening. A regular ticket costs less than half of a dinner-and-show evening at the big theme parks, you are back in Patong’s restaurants straight afterwards, and there is no long transfer.

Simon Cabaret is less worth it if glitzy costumes and stage comedy are not your thing: it is a polished show built for visitors, not a slice of local nightlife. Travellers who want local life rather than a show built for tourists will get more from a market or a night in Phuket Old Town.

  • Go if: you want a light, colourful evening in Patong, you are with friends or a group, or rain has ruled out the beach.
  • Skip if: you dislike staged shows built for tourists.
  • Save money: book regular seats direct, and walk or take a short ride from central Patong rather than paying for a transfer.

Simon Cabaret or Phuket FantaSea?

Simon Cabaret and Phuket FantaSea are different kinds of evening. Simon Cabaret is a compact cabaret in Patong with three shows a night; FantaSea is a theme park at Kamala built around one big show at 9:00 pm, with a show-only ticket at 1,800 THB for an adult (Phuket FantaSea prices; as of October 2026).

Pick Simon Cabaret for a short show close to your hotel in Patong. Pick FantaSea, covered in our Phuket FantaSea guide, for a long evening of dinner, elephants and stage effects with the family. Its sister park is in our Carnival Magic Phuket guide.

Getting There

Simon Cabaret is at 8 Sirirach Road, Patong Beach, in Kathu district (Simon Cabaret contact page). From most hotels in Patong it is a short taxi or tuk-tuk ride; agree the fare before you get in, and allow extra time in the evening, when traffic in Patong is slow.

The theatre can arrange a private or shared minivan for an extra charge when you book, which is the easier option from Karon, Kata or further away. If you are flying in on the day, our Phuket airport to Patong guide covers the bus, taxi and transfer options, and our Patong Beach guide covers the rest of the bay.

Where to Stay Near Simon Cabaret
