Paradise Beach Phuket is a small beach club cove about 4 km south of Patong, with two sandy coves, an entry fee of 200 baht per person including a drink, and a monthly Full Moon Party. It is pretty and easy to reach, but busy and commercial: worth a half-day if you want calm water close to Patong, not if you want an empty beach.
Most people hear about Paradise Beach because of the parties. By day it is a different place: sunbeds, bars and swimmers in a sheltered bay below the jungle. This guide covers the entry fee and hours, swimming, the quieter second cove most visitors miss, the Full Moon Party, how to get there from Patong and an honest answer to whether it is worth it.

What Paradise Beach Is Like
Paradise Beach is two small sandy bays with blue water, soft sand and coconut trees, about 4 km from Patong Beach (Phuket 101). It sits on the Patong headland in Kathu district, southwest of central Patong, and the main cove is roughly 150 metres long (Window on Phuket).
Paradise Beach is not a quiet cove any more. The main beach is lined with restaurants, shops, bars, stages and dance floors; Phuket 101, whose founder first came here in the late 1990s, calls it “a crossbreed between a village and a shopping mall” (Phuket 101). Toilets, showers, food, drinks and sunbeds are all inside the paid area (Window on Phuket).

Entry Fee and Opening Hours
Entry to Paradise Beach costs 200 baht per person and includes a drink, and the beach is open from 9 am to 7 pm (as of April 2026, Phuket 101). The price can change at any time, so bring a little extra.
The entry fee covers the beach itself. Extra fees apply for sunbeds, pool use and premium seating (Window on Phuket). Bring cash: cards work at some places on the beach but not all (Phuket 101).
One money tip: don’t buy a drink before you go in. Use the drink voucher at one of the beach bars rather than the main restaurant, where prices are higher.
Swimming and Snorkelling
Paradise Beach is one of the few west coast beaches in Phuket where you can usually swim in the monsoon, because the bay stays calm in both the high and low seasons (Window on Phuket). That makes it a useful back-up in the rainy season, from May to October.
Coral and rocks lie offshore, so wear water shoes when you go in away from the sandy patches (Window on Phuket). Snorkelling along the rocks at either end is the best bet; bring your own mask, as rental gear and prices vary from season to season.

The Quiet Second Cove
The quietest part of Paradise Beach is a second cove that most visitors never find. Walk about 100 metres to the left of the main beach, over a small hill, and a flight of stairs takes you down to a surprisingly quiet sandy cove (Phuket 101).
It has none of the music and fewer of the sunbeds, so it is the place to spend the afternoon once you have had lunch on the main beach. Come on a weekday morning if you can: weekends bring crowds from Patong.
The Full Moon Party at Paradise Beach
Paradise Beach hosts a Full Moon Party every month, from 7 pm until around 2 am, with DJs, fire shows and five bars on the sand (Phuket 101). It is smaller and more organised than the original party on Koh Phangan, and you don’t need to take a ferry to get there.
| Ticket | Price | Includes |
|---|---|---|
| Party Pass | 1,200 baht | Entry, 1 bucket or 2 beers, shuttle |
| Premium Pass | 1,800 baht | Entry, 2 buckets or 4 beers, tank top, shuttle |
The minimum age for the Full Moon Party is 20, and ID is checked at the entrance. A free shuttle bus runs every 30 minutes between the Bangla Road and Jungceylon area of Patong and Paradise Beach from 7 pm (Phuket 101). Half Moon and Black Moon parties fill other nights of the month, so check the party’s Facebook page for the next date.
Getting There from Patong
Paradise Beach is about 10 to 15 minutes by car or scooter from central Patong. From Patong, drive south to the bridge that leads to Amari Phuket and turn left right after it. Pass Marriott Merlin Beach Resort and Tri Trang Beach, then follow the Paradise Beach sign for another 2 or 3 km (Phuket 101).
The road is narrow but paved and ends at a car park, where a free shuttle takes you down to the beach (Phuket 101). On party nights the free shuttle bus from Patong is the easiest way in and out.
- Taxi or ride-hailing: the simplest option from Patong by day; agree a pick-up time, as cars don’t wait at the car park.
- Scooter: fine for confident riders, but the last stretch is narrow.
- From the airport: get to Patong first; our Phuket airport to Patong guide compares the bus, taxis and transfers.
Best Time to Visit
The best time to visit Paradise Beach is a weekday morning between November and April, Phuket’s dry season, when the beach is at its quietest. Tuesday and Wednesday mornings are the calmest, according to Phuket 101 (Phuket 101).
Because the bay is sheltered, Paradise Beach also works in the rainy months, when it usually stays calm enough to swim. For a month-by-month picture, see our guide to the best time to visit Phuket.
Is Paradise Beach Phuket Worth It?
Paradise Beach is worth it if you want calm water, sunbeds and a drink within 15 minutes of Patong, and you don’t mind paying for it. It is not worth it if you want a natural, empty beach: on Google it is rated 2.9 out of 5 from 980 reviews (Phuket 101).
| Paradise Beach | Freedom Beach | |
|---|---|---|
| Access | Road, then shuttle | Longtail boat or trail |
| Entry | 200 baht with a drink (as of April 2026) | Boat fare or trail fee |
| Feel | Beach club, music | Natural, quieter |
| Monsoon | Usually swimmable | Often unreachable |
If you want the opposite, our Freedom Beach guide covers the wilder cove on the same headland, reached by longtail boat from Patong. For a sandy beach with no entry fee at all, Patong Beach itself is 4 km away.
